My January Solution ...

So I came up with a cool idea for scrapbooking ... at least I think so! Yesterday I went through all my scrapbooking stuff and gave all the paper and embellishments that I no longer use to a friend for her birthday (plus a few things I thought she'd like). I was a little nervous recycling like that for a present but she was thrilled! It's good to purge and feels great to give! Today I went through all my stuff again and picked out some of my supplies that I just love (but haven't used) and some that I thought would challenge my creativity and put together my own kit -- for me to use for January. This fits into my words well -- loving myself by allowing me to have scrapbooking time, and wisdom by using stuff I already had instead of just going to the store and buying more more more (thus causing further strain on our budget and not working toward the goal of being debt free.)

My little Joel is so wonderful and precious. Today he was saying "wow wow wow" all day! So cute! That and "brmm brmm". He so loves playing with his trucks and his trains! I'm also loving his sweet kisses and cuddles throughout the day too. This time with him is going so fast. I just want to capture every sweet moment. (I guess that's why scrapbooking is such a passion for me!)

Pictures: 1. A Christmas Ornament I got from my wonderful mother in law (thanks sooo much) that I think is a great inspirational peice!
2. Embellishments for my kit: Heidi Swapp - journalling spots; Prima Artist Aids - chipboard frame and puzzle peices; Making Memories - minibook, expressions rubons; Bohemia - Blossom Darling Rubons, All about me rubons, Dragonfly transparency, Blossom Princess Frame transparency, Bluebird all boy frame transparency; Wholy Cow - swirl rubons
3. Paper for my kit: FoofaLa - Red Black and Cream basic black and jacobean black; Creative Imaginations - Sonnets Cranberry Wash, Anthology; Bohemia - barefoot you and me swirl, Bluebird all boy dragonfly, Backyard Adventure Dragonfly; Rhonna Farrer; Fancy Pants - frosted fancy free; Sandylion - stonewashed pink; KI Memories - holiday collection chill out.
Layouts and projects to come soon!

Such an awesome idea Kim to create your own kits. I need to do the same thing! I also recycle my stuff for my friend and she loves it. It feels good to purge as well! Love that ornament, so funky! So glad you capture Joel's words & actions. They are going to mean a lot in a couple of years!

What a great idea - I pass stuff onto a friend, but right now my room looks like a bomb hit it. Time to get organised.
