I Spy...

something that is BROWN. We are big football fans in this house ... every Sunday after church and on Monday nights we eat chicken wings and watch football. Joel says "I'm a cheese head!" Go Packers Go! (and I cheer for the SeaHawks too!)

some Choices ... it's a choice to put of these shoes and exercise. A choice I want to make more often! This week these shoes and Billy Blanks have worked out twice! Go Me! Below is my latest layout ...

Happy Pumpkin Day

I spy some candy! And they're off ... My boys are gathering loot as we speak, and I should be cleaning the kitchen (while I hand out candy to the neighbour kids), but I wanted the Grandma's to be able to check out this year's costumes (Joel was a giraffe last year too, just so you know, I remember being a pumpkin and a hawaiian dancer for many years in a row). The funny thing about being a hawiian dancer in Alberta is that I would put the bikini and grass skirt over my snowpants and ski jacket - I'm sure I got a few chuckles!

I spy and some tuesday gratitude =)

A shadow. (I know you've seen this shadow before ... but it's my favorite!)

Some orange.

So thankful for:

1. My husband ... he took me on TWO dates this weekend. We went to a retirement party on Friday night and the hockey game on Saturday night! So awesome to spend some time with my man!
2. the Grandma's .. without you wonderful women we couldn't have gone out on our dates! WE LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH! Thank you!
3. My boys! Josh got his top front teeth last night!
3. God's word! So thankful for God and His promises!

I Spy ...

some tools. Joel loves to be a "working man" especially when he can help Daddy!

This week's layout at Unpubbed:

This week's challenge at SALT is REST. Totally need this topic ... thankful that God provides rest for those to come to Him. It's so awesome that He promises (and delivers) all that we need, if only we'll come to Him, believe and receive those promises.

I Spy and some friday gratitude ...

something creative. I sure am enjoying Wilna's class ... paint, glue, modge podge, paper, canvases, pictures -- what more could a girl need to get creative?

and my keys. A great prompt ... because in 20 years will I remember what my keys looked like in 2008? Probally not -- do you think we'll even have keys then?

So thankful for:
1. Milestones ... Josh has learned to sit up on his own (in a tripod and pretty wobbly, but, we're getting there!)

2. Walks to the park ... so much fun (and good exercise)!

3. Wilna's cupcake and coffee class ... here's pics from today's canvas project and yesterday's mini out of a starbucks cup sleeve! (all artwork designed by Wilna).

4. A date with Matt ... Matt's wonderful parents watched the boys so Matt and I could go on a date last night! We went to Earl's (my favorite restaurant) and then for a walk! What a delight to spend some "alone" time with my man!

5. Waiting ... I know that sounds funny, but, I'm having fun waiting for the phone to ring saying my sister is in labour. I called her twice today (and my Mom once just to make sure and not to bug Kara too much!) I can't wait to meet the new addition to our family!

I spy ...

something tiny. These are little tiny toys from Joel's farmyard (they are hidden away at the moment because they are way too small for Josh!)

I spy and some art ...

some food. These pears are now pear sauce for Josh ... he loves them! The next layout is a lift of the famous Jude over at Unpubbed ... join us in lifting her for a prize! (The belly belongs to my sister ... we are so excited to meet her little person later this month)!

Another layout for Unpubbed:

I spy and some art ...

something yellow. This beautiful flower is growing in my garden!

some friends. Joel and his friends ... so much fun!

some hands. Josh is so interested in those hands - looking at them, sucking on them, grasping with them!

I made this layout for my Jessica Sprague class today - a favorite memory from yesterday at the zoo! We had such a great time - both of the Grandma's came and we wanderered around the zoo enjoying the animals and watching Joel discover and learn. Today was also a great day! My Mom watched the boys (and made supper) while I played ... I got to catch up on some of my favorite blogs, I cleaned up my office, and I got to do some scrapping! Hooray!

I spy and some art ...

something hot

This is my layout for Unpubbed last week:

And my layout for SALT -- our challenge was to create art about being patient. Love the verse that says: "... imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised." Hebrews 6:11-15

I Spy ...

something Patriotic. I used my new lens to catch this one (a NIKON DX AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm 1:4-5.6G ED). It rocks! Love our country and our flag!

and something fun. Matt finally finished the sandbox ... and filled it with sand. Joel would be out there 24/7 if I let him. And he's so cute ... he has "bulldozer feet" and a "backhoe arm" (he calls his hand the "bucket")!

I'm kinda sad ... my course with Jessica Sprague is done. But, the happy thing is that I have a whole bunch of new skills to try out and encorporate into my scrapping! Here is last week's assignment (Jessica's design ... my pictures and story!)

I spy, a beard and a garden update ...

I spy some numbers (on our fridge of course ... usually these are curling rocks, or hockey pucks) and I spy something relaxing! Last night my husband came home from a 6 day fishing trip (YIPPPPPEEEE!)-- he was WAY WAY up north in Saskatewan and there is no phone reception at the lake they flew into so it was a lonely 6 days. This morninghe let me sleep in and go get a pedicure! SOOO relaxing!

Every night (well almost every night) Joel gets a bath before bed ... every bath has to have Tow Mater bubbles (I found bubble bath in the shape of an oil can with Tow Mater on it ... we love Cars here). Lately he has been putting on a bubble beard and "scraping" it off just like Daddy does. So so sweet!

And ... we have carrots! WOO HOO! Wonder what will be next? Also wondering if I planted these seeds too deeply?

I spy ...

something that is round (did you notice the spider ... I didn't until I looked at the picture) and Joshua's little shoes.

Joel and I planted our garden this afternoon while Joshua had a nap. It was fun preparing the soil and planting seeds. Looking forward to watching the garden's progress. We planted potatoes, pumpkins, beans and carrots. I've only planted flowers for the last few years and I was missing having a vegetable garden. In my old house I had all kinds of gardens (which my Mom and I would spend hours and hours weeding for the summers that I lived there). Such great memories ...
