Some art ...

for Unpubbed ... my lift of Melissa's amazing design team layout and below my design team layout for this week's open call.

A layout for SALT ... our theme this week is hope. There's so much in God's word about hope ... I focused on 1 Corinthians 13 and how LOVE ALWAYS HOPES. That's so powerful ... because God is love. And He has shed abroad His Love in our hearts ... always hoping may cause us to be vulnerable and pull down our walls of defense ... but I believe it is so worth it.

some tools. Joel loves to be a "working man" especially when he can help Daddy!

This week's layout at Unpubbed:

This week's challenge at SALT is REST. Totally need this topic ... thankful that God provides rest for those to come to Him. It's so awesome that He promises (and delivers) all that we need, if only we'll come to Him, believe and receive those promises.

I spy and some art ...

some food. These pears are now pear sauce for Josh ... he loves them! The next layout is a lift of the famous Jude over at Unpubbed ... join us in lifting her for a prize! (The belly belongs to my sister ... we are so excited to meet her little person later this month)!

something hot

This is my layout for Unpubbed last week:

And my layout for SALT -- our challenge was to create art about being patient. Love the verse that says: "... imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised." Hebrews 6:11-15

Friday Gratitude

So Thankful for:
1. An afternoon off ... my Mom took Joel swimming and I hung out with Josh and did some scrapbooking!
2. A date with my husband ... my Mom in law took care of the boys and we went out for supper and for a drive in the country! It was good!
3. My new stroller ... a sit/stand option for Joel with the regular seat for Joshua.
4. My garden is growing ... potatoes, sunflowers, beans, pumpkins and carrots are all up!

5. The Jessica Sprague photoshop elements course I'm taking. Here's my first layout from this class:

6. Being on the design team for SALT and UNPUBBED! Love those girls!

7. Being guest dt this month at Lotus Paperie! What an honor!

8. A fun Father's day! We went to the zoo with Uncle Clarke and Kim! It was so much fun!

9. My Nikon D40x! I love my camera!
10. My iPod! I listen to some good stuff while feeding Josh!

Some art ...

This week's layout for Unpubbed. My lift of Stephanie's stunning BINGO layout.

This week's layout for SALT. The challenge was to interpret our favorite psalm. I decided on Psalm 121 ... it was my Grandpa's favorite psalm. As I thought about it, I realized that my Grandpa had possessed everything that God promises in this psalm. I want to follow his example and meditate on this psalm ... I want to possess these promises in my life too.

Some Art ...

Just got home from a trip Edmonton to see my family. It was wonderful to hang out with my sisters and parents and my nephew Noah (featured on the layout below ... for this week's Unpubbed challenge). Yesterday we went to the zoo and had a lovely time .... we got to see the Elephant, go on a train ride and see some kind of Chinese livestock (very cool ... from a distance we weren't sure if it was a buffalo or a rhinoceros). I'll post pictures later on!

Today ...

We had a lovely day today ... had a nap on the couch snuggled with Joel (while Josh slept in his crib), went for a walk around the block and picked up the mail, and had a really nice visit with my Aussie neighbour! Joel hung out at their house and watched Backyardigans with their son while I cooked supper. This was the first time Joel has ever done that ... spent time at the neighbour's without me ... it was strange but good. He's growing up and getting a little more independent. It's nice when he has those little independent moments that he still climbs on my lap and says "I do love you Mommy".

Here's my layouts for Unpubbed and Salt this week:

He slept through the night!

Josh slept through the night! Woo hoo! (10-6:45) It was lovely to sleep that long (except that I kept waking up expecting that Josh would be waking up!) Hopefully he'll do it again tonight! Yesterday Joel and I started swimming lessons ... he sure hangs on tight to me in the water ... but I expect he'll get more confident and independent as the weeks go on!

Unpubbed and SALT

These are my layouts for Unpubbed and SALT. I've been doing more traditional paper layouts lately (I guess you would call them hybrid because I am using some digital tweaking to pics)... and in a new size for me (8.5 by 11). I'm having fun with this! Scrapbooking is good!

Yippee!

Joel slept ALL night last night! Woo hoo! I got 8 hours of sleep (with only one interruption at 2am because my bladder was full - I have the tiniest bladder on earth - Bean Sprout must like to use it for a pillow, and my ribs as a place to rest his or her feet!)

I've been feeling creative today! The following is my SALTchallenge creation and my One Little Word Challenge creation. I was deleting old emails from my inbox this morning and came across the beautiful tulip picture a friend (Brett Rodil) from work had sent me! Then I was thinking about how wonderful it will be when the snow and the cold are gone and the tulips start to bloom - we'll have a new baby here then and I just love tulips and warm weather and all that comes with it.

Challenges!

For Salt (Jesus is Lord!):

For Unpubbed (Heather's 15 Minutes):

For One Little Word (Believe):

Had a great day today! Got new tires for my Pathfinder so I won't slip and slide on the roads this winter! Joel called them "fancy tires" - where he got fancy from I'm not sure! Had a nap - totally not planning this - laid down with Joel to help him sleep and then I did! Had our good friends over for Chinese food - also an unexpected but wonderful surprise! I've really been enjoying my digital scrapbooking course! But today I was inspired by my friend Melissa to do some scraproom purging! I got a box full of paper and one of embellishments and stamps that I'm sending to my sister for her crafting projects! It feels good to purge and get stuff I'll never use out of my drawers!

Joy (SALT)

My layout for the recent challenge at SALT - Joy! (inspired by Claudine Helmuth)

Some things I'm joyful about today!
1. That we have a cleaning lady .... it's so nice to know the house is clean and I can have an afternoon nap without guilt!
2. That Joel and I are starting swimming lessons today .... a fun activity for both of us to enjoy together!
3. That I'll be seeing my family today and over the weekend as we celebrate my Grandpa's life.
4. Joel's vocabulary ... he has some funny ones. The other day Matt and him were talking about his little toy golf clubs and Joel said "actually that's mama's club". And over and over he says "fankyou mommy" I love it!
5. That I'm in maternity clothes again ... excited about the new baby coming in March and happy that smells are not keeping me from doing the things I love (like scrapbooking!)

Some happiness!

First of all, I must be feeling better because I've blogged four days in a row! Wow!

Second, the happiness! At least for me! Yesterday I went down to my scrap space to get working on some of my projects ... and wow I could be in there. My nose and my stomach were no longer rebelling the smell of the room. In fact it smelled quite pleasant in there! WOOOO HOOOO! So I cleaned up my desk and then proceeded to make two - yes two layouts! WOO HOOO! I'll show you the first here (my entry for this week's SALT challenge (all about God's promises).

Third, I had a Dr. appointment today ... all is well! The baby's heartrate was loud and strong and 162! Somehow hearing that heartbeat is the best sound in the world. Joel had his checkup today too - he's growing and developing well - and 23.2lbs.

And finally, Stacy came over yesterday and brought me some goodies from Scrapfest (so sad I missed it but excited to play with the two kits she gave me!) Thanks Stacy!
