A Big Day!

Today Joshua:
- breast fed for the first time! Woo hoo! My little genious - he sucked, swallowed and breathed just like he's supposed to! (Just for a few minutes though!)
- had his first bath ...
- slept in his little bassinette
- sucked on his soother
- kept his vital signs perfect
- got held by Daddy, Mama, Grandma, and his big brother Joel
Life is good!

PS. Josh was 4 lb, 5 oz at birth (he's now 4lb 1oz but gaining instead of losing now!)
PSS. Josh will probally be in the hospital until his due date (March 7) so we have 7 weeks to get ready!
PSSS. Josh says "hi" to Grandma and Grandpa in Hawai - we love and miss you guys!

I've stumbled onto your blog and just have to say how inspiring I find you as you're going through all this with your new little one. I can tell you are filled with hope and I can't believe you have a smile on your face through all this! Amazing!

Kimberly -

I stumbled upon your blog while exploring from a friends blog {to another friends, to another, to another, etc..etc...} right about the time you had posted that Joshua had arrived.

I too had a baby born at 32 weeks {in August of 2006} after having what I thought were Braxton Hicks contractions all day. Much to my surprise, when we finally decided to go to ther ER, I found out I was already 7cm dialated.

Kamryn Kaye was born weighing 4lbs 8oz and stayed in the NICU for 23 days.

I am now the oh so proud mom of a healthy, happy, vibrant, sassy, smart, energetic, strong 17 month old.

You will be AMAZED at what a strong child your preemie child will grow to become and every day they will continue to amaze you!

I enjoy all of your pictures, as it certainly brings me back to our days 17 months ago and the absolute joy I experienced every day Kamryn reached a new milestone.

Please feel free to stop by and say "hello" sometime.
