Holding him!

Oh happy day! Joshua was "suntanning" when we came today (he needs the lights for his jaundice - very normal) -- and I got to hold him! WOO HOO! They call it kangaroo care - you hold the baby skin to skin and they like it (vital signs get better and they settle - which is exactly what Joshua did with me.) He is so tiny and beautiful and a joy to hold. I love him so much. When we left tonight he was back on CPAP (Matt calls it Mr. Happy Nose - hee hee) but that's okay because it helps him. Feeds are going well!

Joel has been so sweet ... and missing me too. He can say Joshua's name and says the sweetest things! "Joshua so little". "Joshua sleep in funny bed at hospital". We took him today with Auntie Rhonda (thank you so so much for all your help) and it was so good for him to see Joshua and to know where I am all day.

One more note ... he finally has a name: Joshua Matthew. (We thought about a middle name for awhile and have settled on this.)

He is so cute Kim! And so glad to hear that you had a great day with him.
Totally bringing back memories for me - I have an entire group of photos with Jack in those same glasses when he was under the lights :)
Also every time I come to your blog and see your sidebar about your word 'courage' I think again about what a really fitting word that is for you during this time...
praying for you and for your courage during this time.

hi kim, i hope you still remember me from jessica's class. i just found out about your early birth0giving from heather's post on our board and rushed here immediately to give you some cyberhugs and to let you know that i'm keeping both you and joshua matthew in my prayers. he is soooo precious; you are both blessed to have each other, and your hubby and little son are so blessed too. know that we at the playground are here for you always. if you need anything, you know where to find us ;) take really good care of yourself, okay? (((hugs))) ps. he is just the most adorable little boy i've ever seen! i remember my little boys' new baby smell when i see your wonderful photos!

Big kisses for all of you!
