Four Weeks Old ... and some time to play!
Our sweet Olivia is four weeks old today. It's been a fairly sleepy hazy time for me ... she likes to hang out with me in the middle of the night when I want to be sleeping! I'm so very thankful that my Mom has been here so much - she spoils me rotten (cooking, doing our laundry, letting me sleep in and have naps - I am so very BLESSED!) Olivia is starting to be awake a little more - opening her beautiful eyes and looking around at her world. She smiles at us (I refuse to believe that it's gas) and does all the other baby things - hating her baths, filling her little diapers, sleeping (when she wants to), eating, and being cute. She is such a blessing to us and we all love her very much!
Yesterday I finally got a minute to play with my new Christmas present (thanks to my loving husband and his Mom and Dad). Before Christmas I was working on baby quilts and got the little girl one finished, but my sewing machine decided to need servicing before I was able to finish the little boy one (which didn't really matter seeing as we had Olivia!) I started scheming up ways to save money for a sewing machine more suited to quilting ... and everyone was smiling because Christmas morning I received a beautiful Janome 4030 Quilting machine. IT"S so very awesome - fun little deluxe features that my Kenmore sewing machine didn't have (like the button to make the needle go down, the switch to put the feed dogs down, etc.) So yesterday I learned how to thread the machine and wind the bobbin and started making Joel some jammie bottoms (just to practice how to sew and a project I've had cut out for over a month).
Today Mom and I watched the DVD for my other Christmas toy -- that stayed in the box until just today - a Cuisinart Food Processor (thanks DAD!) I think it's going to make my life much much easier in the kitchen -- maybe I'll actually start baking and cooking fancy stuff now!
God bless you!
PS. Those cute little shoes were given to us by my friend Heather (for Josh)! Thanks Heather!
