The big boy bed

Somebody loves his new bed. "Truck - Big Truck - bed!" over and over. I just can't get him to have a nap in there. Night time works because he's so tired ... but nap time just becomes play time until he's had enough and wants out of his room (good thing he hasn't figured out how to open the door yet!) Any suggestions?

Oh wow, That bed is freakin cute! (so is that kid with his head poking out! ha ha!)
I have no suggestions for you. My kid is weird. Jake never EVER even attempted to get out of his crib. Not even once. Then when we got him his big boy bed he had no trouble adjusting. Still to this day (he's almost 4) he will not get out of bed unless one of us goes in his room and tells him he can get up. I guess that's probably a good thing!
I still can not get over how cute that bed is! What a lucky kid Joel is!

Very cute bed!!
Not sure how to handle keeping him in the bed - but would say persistance is key...or say that he needs to just lay down and rest - or you stay in there with him for the first few days...
my kids are constantly in and out of their beds but we just keep putting them back in - I figure if I give in once it will be all over :)

no advice whatsoever.

Cute bed tho! Sean spent a ton of money building Simon a fire truck bed. It was colored on, sticker-ed on, pieces broken off, and in the dumpster less than a year later. Good thinking going plastic!

LOVE the bed and the cutie in it! However, I have no advice...nada, because mine is like me and loves the nap and sleeping (we both do best on lots and lots of sleep).

Best wishes and HUGS!

Love the bed! Ours has a race car bed and we never had a problem with him getting out of it. Not sure why, he was just good about that kind of thing. (Number two won't be so easy...I'll have to attach him with velcro to the bed when the time comes! LOL!

I've always said to our oldest (3.5) that even if he doesn't feel like sleeping he has to stay in his bed and rest. He can have toys with him as long as he's quiet. Sometimes he falls right to sleep, sometimes he plays but he has to stay in his room for a certain amount of time, no matter what he's doing. My guess is that the excitement of the bed will wear off and he'll start to nap again.
