House bound ...

I have to say, one of the most annoying things about having a broken right foot is that I can't drive. I have had to rely on my husband to get milk, to drive me to Bible study on Tuesday, to take the boys to swimming lessons today (and swim too), and this afternoon he'll have to take me grocery shopping (our pantry is getting a bit bare). I really appreciate it too! (My friend Naomi took me to a class yesterday for work - thanks Naomi!)

What is amazing to me is that I did the no driving thing for a long time as a teenager. When I was 16 I got into a car accident on my first real solo driving experience. I had passed my driver's test and my parents had promised I could drive to the big dance at school that friday night. My Dad had given me some rules to follow ... and I disobeyed (I didn't think he'd ever find out that I took 4 of my friends to Earls for a snack, when he had told me to come straight home and only drive my two friends home. Thankfully every one lived - but there were some scrapes and sore necks and stitches.) One of the consequences for this was that I couldn't drive (the insurance was too expensive). And so I relied on my parents, my sister Kara (when she got her license), my friends and the bus to get me around. I'm so thankful that this time it's just a very temporary moment of not driving! I'm so SO thankful to be able to drive. It is quite a blessing!

In the meantime, I've been scrapbooking and working on my quilt!

Goodies I used: Designer Digitals: Ali Edwards: Word Art, K. Pertiet: Vintage frame, Krafty ledger paper, graphed overlay, Anna Aspnes: Freebie butterfly, brown stitched by Anna, Oscaps: Taylor Made: Butterflies(Tender hearted kit), clearly stuck tape, After 5 Designs: Karla Dudley Butterfly Epoxy (Digi Essentials kit)

I remember that time and I hope that I treated you better than I remember... with a little grace... I think I would do better now than back then. I pray you heal quickly and get back to having your freedom. K

isn't it funny how much you realize when you can't do something...and it's almost worse just because you can't do it.

but glad you are finding the positive as well and working on some creative stuff :)

I'm so sorry about your foot Kim, Hugs to you! I will be praying for quick recovery for you, it's always a little frustrating relying on others for basic things isn't it, But sometimes it's a Real Blessing for others to be able to Serve God by helping you xxx

ps...lovely to see your beautiful scrapbooking :)
