So I was practicing aperture today and thought this was a cool one. I think I need a different lens to be able to do this better - the one I have I can zoom in and out with and it doesn't let me go very low down in Fstops. (not that I'm complaining or asking for one). This one the F stop is 3.5 I think and the ISO is 400 with midmorning light. I really like low f-stops (which seems to focus on the front) I have a lot to learn (obviously!)

Cute little thing ... Joel sang the alphabet this morning (from about p to z) amazing that kid!

great shot Kim! When I have my zoom lens on...i find it best to put in the portrait (face) or macro mode (flower)to get the short depth of feild were the background is all blurred out. The only thing with that is you can't changer your fstop! BUT it gives you that same effect. I just got the 50mm 1.8 lens and I love it. Makes those kinds of shots easy :)
And it was only 70 bucks! Maybe you could convince Cupid to bring you one for valentines day! Do Canadians do Valentines day?
Anyways, have fun playing with your camera! :)

Love that we are all trying to figure this out together :) Great shot by the way...for me it is all about practice - and taking 20 pictures of the same shot to figure out what I'm doing...

love it! And maybe he could come teach Felix his alphabet. He recognizes some of his letters by sight and if I say, what comes after "random letter" he can tell me. But he will not sing them in order! Go figure!

Love the pic.

I so printed the article and will be playing this weekend with my sister and her camera. ANd, now that Corey got a new lens and it was only like $70, I think I may need to convince my hubby I need that...

Love the shot though...
